Creating a Space for Grief
Grief Garden brings to life Khaty Xiong’s poem about visiting the gardens and grieving her late mother. The exhibit provides space for visitors to address grief of their own by writing messages to lost loved ones on illustrated cards, then attaching them to trellises, allowing the exhibit to grow and change as more people participate. Hanging chrysalis vines and flowers adorn the space to create an immersive garden that transforms experiences of loss into an interactive art installation for healing.
